The workload in 4th grade increases as we go through the year.  With that comes the responsibility for students to be sure that they focus on completing their assignments both in school and at home.  I look forward to teaching them strategies to help them stay on task!

Grammar: Four kinds of sentences: declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, imperative

Reading: Focus story “My Brother Martin”, informational text “Langston Hughes: A Dreamer Poet”

Writing: Narrative writing

Math: Place value, renaming numbers, adding and subtracting numbers

Science: Ch. 5 Lesson 2 What are the respiratory and circulatory systems?

Social Studies:  Ch. 1 Lesson 2 Rivers and Lakes

Religion: daily devotions

TESTS THIS WEEK:

  • Friday – Spelling; Reading; Grammar

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • This week I will begin offering Extra Help in Math before school, on Wednesday from 7:45-8:15
  • Fridays Reading and Grammar exams will be graded, however, they will be used as a benchmark for comprehension levels at this point in the school year.
