On Monday, September 12, we will begin our Nursery School adventure together! I so enjoyed meeting all my new students last Friday and I am looking forward to an amazing year together! Each Sunday I will post our class’ plans for the week here on our class page on the school’s website. Feel free to read all about our upcoming plans, important dates, classroom updates and school events posted here weekly.
This week we will learn that Mm is for me! We will learn about the things that make each of us unique – like our likes, dislikes and physical features. We will also learn about how we all are similar. We will look closely at ourselves in the mirror while we create our own self portraits and we will explore our bodies and our five senses. During story time this week, we will enjoy stories about our feelings, our relationships and our bodies.
God made each of us special. We will discuss how God loves us all so much that he sent us Jesus. God calls us by name. We will look at our names and our special first letter and use them to create beautiful works of art.
In addition, each child has been given an “All About Me” worksheet and a “Family Photo Apple” to complete for homework. Please send these completed sheets back to class by Friday so that we can present them to the class and learn more about each other.
I am so excited to learn more about each new member of our class this week and to grow together as a classroom family! The transition to Nursery School can, at times, be a bit challenging, but I am sure that together we will all adjust and learn to love our special time that we are blessed to enjoy together! It’s going to be a memorable year!!
