Fall is in the air as we begin October this week! We are so excited to be visiting Green Meadow Farm this Friday, and seeing all of the animals and picking out pumpkins!
In conjunction with visiting the farm, we will begin our farm unit with several versions of the folk tale Little Red Hen. We will compare the various ways the story is told, and at the end of the week we will bake bread like the Little Red Hen. We will also make a little red hen craft. We will have farm toys in the sensory table with oats and corn kernels, and we will use farm puzzles and other farm toys to reinforce the theme.
In math we will be reviewing #4, the color blue, and triangle. We will also be learning the concepts of “more” and “less”.
Our letter this week is Bb and we will be learning a Bb song and reading the story “B. B. Bunny”. We will also make a bandaid B.
During Jesus time we will finish our Creation book with the last 3 days of Creation, and we will watch a video of Creation.
We are in the last week of our first literacy unit Ready For School, and our topic is “Getting Along”. Our new vocabulary will be “share”, “turns”, and “cooperate”.
Our literacy unit this week also includes a sink and float science experiment. We will form a hypothesis about what items sink and float and then test our hypothesis.
We have a fun week ahead!
