Dear Parents,
Over the last few weeks we’ve learned all about apples, creation, the letters ‘A” and “F”, the fall season, and the color red. This week we are excited to welcome in the month of October. We have a lot of learning and fun in store for us this month.
This week we will learn about the farm and farm animals in preparation for our field trip to White Post Farms on Friday, October, 4th. We will learn about the animals that live on a farm and focus on pigs, sheep, and ducks. The letter for this week is “D”, the color for the week is “yellow”, and the number for the week is “1”. Additionally, we will continue to discuss the changes that occur during the Fall season, with a science focus on the changing weather.
For centers, we are introducing a felt wall where the children can set up their own farm and a sensory bin with farm animals and feed. In addition to our art center, we will introduce a new tracing center and a cutting center. We learned the Johnny Appleseed prayer in September and now it’s time to learn a new prayer for the month of October. At snack time, the children will be learning this prayer:
Thank you God for our food so good.
Help us do the things we should.
Amen.
During religion this week we will further expand on creation focusing on God created the animals and Adam and Eve. We will also introduce the concept of right and wrong and God loves you no matter what.
We look forward to a fun and educational week!
