Welcome 4th Grade Families! 

We are off to a fantastic start of the school year! I can not believe that we are going into our first full week of school. This week we will be focusing on the following topics: 

ELA- This week in reading we will be focusing on story structure, as well as writing descriptive 

paragraphs. We will also begin our first class read-aloud, Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. We will have our first ELA test on Friday. Please be sure to check your child’s google classroom and/or planner for this week’s spelling words. 

Math- This week in Math we will begin our first chapter of GoMath, focusing on place value, 

multiplication, and expressions. 

Social Studies- This week in S.S. we will begin our study of the geography of New York State, 

focusing on its location. 

Science– We will be working on developing our critical thinking and problem solving skills by 

solving STEAM problems.  

Religion- We will continue to work on the memorization of this years Bible verse, Ephesians 5: 

8b-10, and discuss the importance of prayer. 

 

Our Schedule for the year is as follows: 

Monday- Computer (9:57-10:37) 

Tuesday- Physical Education (1:32-2:12) 

Wednesday- Chapel (8:30-9:10), Physical Education (10:40-11:20), Music (1:32-2:12) 

Thursday- Spanish (9:13-9:54), Art (11:20-12:00)

Friday- Library (9:13-9:54), SEL/Critter Room (!:32-2:12) 

 

We have lunch from 12:00-12:30, and recess from 12:40-1:10 every day.
