As October blossoms into the full autumn season we wish to take this opportunity to thank our parents for their cooperation and understanding in assisting the children in acclimatizing themselves into the new learning experiences at school.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We have begun our experiences in learning about the farm. We will be spending time on the pigs and sheep now that we have actually seen them.
SCIENCE: With the many Halloween decorations being posted around the neighborhoods, spiders are sometimes quite scary. In our science time we will learn about the spider’s anatomy and usefulness in our world as well as they do not have to be feared.
JESUS’ TIME: God gives us our families to love us and care for us. The Bible story this week will be the call of Abraham and the promise of the coming of Jesus.
LITERACY: Unit one on School and friends will be completed. Books include: MOUSE GOES TO SCHOOL, WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND? and FRIEND.
MATH: This week we have graphed pumpkins; did patterning; worked with numbers 1-5; and made many size comparisons.
ART WITH MRS. KERWIN: Our sheep are beginning to look so cute! In our classroom we will be painting pigs of many pink shades.
GROSS MOTOR PLAY: As well as running a lot we are also practicing our long jump thanks to the help of the PE teacher, Ms. Plank.
To paraphrase a quote often used by Fred Rogers, Play is the Work of Children. So please play, love, and work with your children as much as possible.
And may our gracious Lord rest His hand gently upon you now and always!
