Dear Parents,
Happy March! Last week we learned the letter “K” for Kindness. Our letter this week is “J” for Jesus. The children will learn to recognize, trace, and sound out the letter “J”. Last week we learned the phrase “March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb”. We will be charting the weather each day this month to see if we have more “lion days” or “lamb days”.
We are celebrating Read Across America Week. We encourage you to read with your child each night to foster a love for the written word. To celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we will read a different Dr. Seuss book each day this week and make a craft that relates to the book. We hope you take part in dressing your child up for our Read Across America Theme Week. The themes are:
Monday – Red Fish Blue Fish, One Fish Two Fish: Dress in red or blue or red and blue
Tuesday – Fox in Socks: Dress in your crazy, colorful socks
Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday: Dress in your wackiest, silliest cloths
Thursday – Green Eggs and Ham: Dress in green
Friday – Cat in the Hat: Dress in your favorite pajamas
For religion, we will learn about Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, and we will start to learn about Lent. Pastor Rethinasamy will lead chapel for us on Wednesday and we will make a beautiful cross craft to signify the start of Lent.
All library books are due back on Thursday/Friday and new books will be borrowed on those days. Your child has to return their library book on Thursday, March 6th, in order to borrow a new book.
Have a Blessed Day!
