Dear Parents,
We have been busy practicing for our Christmas Program. The boys and girls are singing and learning the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus. We learned about Advent and what each candle represents. They made an Advent project and we will light our class Advent candle each Monday leading up to break.
This week we will continue to practice for our program, which is scheduled for Monday, December 16th at 9:30am. We will continue with our December crafts and the kids are working on fun gifts and surprises for you. This is our theme week and we hope everyone participates. First is ugly sweater day, then red/green day, flannel day, dress like an elf day, and lastly, Christmas pajama day.
Our scholastic reader this week will teach the children about sending mail during the holidays. We will make Christmas cards and take a walk to our “in-school post office” a.k.a Miss Lynn’s office, where we will mail cards home, so keep an eye out for that! We will play Christmas BINGO, continue working on our arts and crafts center, decorate a Christmas tree in our sensory bin, and review the numbers, letters, and shapes that we’ve learned so far.
For religion we will continue to talk about the birth of Jesus Christ and we will learn about the Three Kings and the gifts they took to our Savior. We will continue to say this prayer for the month of December:
Dear God
Thank you for the gift You gave
who started out so small.
A tiny baby sent to save
and offer hope to all.
Amen
