Hello Parents,
It is officially the third week of school! The children are continuing with our daily routine.
We will continue with the first theme, “Ready for School!” with the unit called “Learning Together.” The curriculum’s focus is for children to work and play with friends at school. The children will learn routines, expectations, and behaviors of school. The vocabulary theme words are learn, partners, and together. For Math, we will be comparing toys using measurement words such as shorter, taller, and longer. We will be reading the books: “The Pledge of Allegiance”, “Mouse’s First Day of School”, and “My Friends.”
We will be learning the letter Aa, the number 3, the color green, and rectangle.
For Jesus time, we will continue singing our daily songs and continue talking about the theme of Creation. We will discuss the 7 days of creation and the children will color their very own creation books.
We will also have a visit from Johnny Appleseed where the children will listen to the story of Johnny Appleseed and discuss more about apples.
For our weekly craft, we will create an Alligator for the letter A and complete our art project of Apple trees with the art teacher Mrs. Kerwin!
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due the following Monday.
