Hello Parents,
We made it to the second week of school! I am so happy with the way the first week of school went. Being my very first year of teaching and having to adjust to a new “normal”, your children have made me feel right at home! I am so proud of how well they are handling the new routine of everyday life.
Using the curriculum, Big Day for Pre-K, and continuing with the them “Ready for School,” the second topic within this theme is “Making Friends.” We will be learning about numbers 1 and 2, the color yellow, squares, and apples! We will read the books: Friends at School, A Splendid Friend Indeed, and Annie, Bea and Chi Chi Dolores. I will also include several seasonal books about Apples. The vocabulary for this topic include: friends, help and play. In regards to Math, we will be learning about positional words such as in, on, under, beside and between.
For our weekly craft, we will be creating a sunflower with tissue paper.
For Jesus time, we will learn about the theme of Creation and the 7 days of creation.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due the following Monday.
