Hello Parents! I pray that everyone continues to stay healthy. Unfortunately, Covid is still among us. It is crucial that you all continue to complete the daily attestations each morning. The end is approaching and super fast!
We are finishing up our last theme of the year, theme 8 and starting unit 4 called “We’re Big Now!”. BIG Idea: look at what I can do. Knowledge Focus: Children reflect on all the ways they have grown and changed during the year. Social-Emotional focus:Â Persistence. The theme vocabulary words include: succeed, success, practice, proud and Kindergarten. Math vocabulary words include: heavier, lighter, heavy, light and weight.
We will continue to review the alphabet, numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten”, “If You Take a Mouse to School” and “My New School”.
We will start talking about sharks and marine life this week! We will also read the Scholastic Weekly reader “What Big Teeth You Have”.
For Jesus time, we will continue to recite The Lord’s Prayer at snack and lunch time as well as continue to practice our graduation songs.
As of last week, we started to learn some sight words! There will be worksheets that will be sent home after each completed sight word. These are just for more practice with your child. They are not apart of the homework packet and are optional.
