Hello parents! Mrs. Maldonado and I were so happy to see that you all had a great time for Special Person’s Day. I believe this is our second to last full week of school for the year!!! That means all of our end of the year festivities are approaching faster than we know it. Please continue to keep a close eye on our ClassDojo as all important information will be posted on there.

We are finishing up Theme 7 with our last unit 4 “The Seasons”. BIG Idea: I notice how the seasons change. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about the seasons and how they change.  Social-Emotional Focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: branches, fall, leaf, season, spring, summer, twigs and winter. Math vocabulary words include: pattern and repeat.

We will continue to review letters A-Z, numbers 1-20, shapes, and colors. We will continue to learn how to count by 10’s, count to 100, and do our weekly journal on Friday’s. We will also continue to learn sight words this week such as the word “is” and “in” We will continue to read the books The Apple Pie Tree”, “What Will The Weather Be?”, “What Makes The Seasons?”, “Look, Listen and Learn” and “Weather” to go along with our theme of the week.

We will be continuing to learn about butterflies this week and learn more in-depth their life cycle, what they eat, and how they transform! We are impatiently waiting for our caterpillars to go into their chrysalis stage! We will be focusing on the life cycle of a butterfly and create a butterfly symmetry craft and virtually visit a butterfly farm!

We will begin Progress Report testing as well this week. Progress reports will be sent home the last day of school.

For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will be reading the story of how Jesus knows my name. We will also continue to practice our Graduation songs in preparation for the end of the year program!
