Hello Parents! I know I probably say this often but I really can’t believe that we are in the home stretch. Time is flying by. I can’t even think about saying goodbye to our class. We are beginning to practice our Graduation Songs and we can’t wait for you all to hear them!

We are continuing with Theme 7 and starting unit 2 “What’s in the Sky?” BIG Idea: I see how the sky is different during the day and at night. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their environment by investigating characteristics of the natural world. Social-Emotional Focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: lighting, moon, sky, stars, sun and thunderstorm. Math vocabulary words include: flip, sphere, rhombus, turn and slide.
We will be learning the letter Zz, how to count by 10’s and reviewing numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will continue to do our weekly journals on Friday’s. We will be reading the books “Little Cloud”, “Mommy’s Little Star”, and “What the Sun/Moon Sees”. We also will continue to work on our Mother’s Day crafts. Please keep an eye on our Classdojo for any upcoming events and important news.
We will be celebrating Earth Day on Monday 4/22 with a special snack called “Dirt Cups!” They consist of chocolate pudding, gummy worms, and crushed up Oreos! On Wednesday, 4/24 there will be a non-profit group coming to show our class a very cool science experiment. Lastly, Friday 4/26 is Arbor Day! We will be reading a special book and discussing how we are thankful for trees. All pictures will be posted to our Classdojo!
For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will discuss the story of Philip and the Ethiopian with the children. We will continue to sing our Jesus time songs and pray before snack and lunch.
