Hello Parents! I can’t believe Spring is right around the corner. We had a little taste of the warm weather today and it was so beautiful! However, the change in weather does bring about more germs. Please continue to pack weather-appropriate clothing and if possible, keep your child home if they are not feeling well.
Important Reminders:
- This week begins Read Across America and we are celebrating by focusing on Dr. Seuss and his book! Every day will be a different theme! Please keep an eye out on our Classdojo for more pictures and updates!
- Book Fair – Tuesday, March 5th at 10am (more information to come on our Classdojo)
- Green Day Celebration! – March 15th, this will be our St. Patrick’s Day celebration! All students are asked to wear green!
- Easter Program – Wednesday, March 20th (more information to come)
- No school for children on Friday, March 22nd due to a staff Professional Development day
We are starting Theme 6 “Growing Up Healthy” and unit 1 “My Senses”. BIG Idea: The five senses help me explore my world. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their bodies and how to take care of themselves. Social-Emotional Focus: Self-Awareness. The theme vocabulary words include: hear, see, sight, smell, sound, taste, touch and senses. Math vocabulary words include: oval, rectangle and rhombus.
We will be learning the letter Tt, number 19, continue to review shapes and colors, and complete our weekly journal on Friday’s. We will be reading the books “1 Fish, 2 Fish”, “Fox in Socks”, “Wacky Wednesday”, “Green Eggs and Ham”, and “The Cat in the Hat”. We will be creating various crafts for each theme! To celebrate the end of Read Across America, on Friday we will be watching The Cat in the Hat movie and enjoy some popcorn! We will also be starting our Easter crafts this week in preparation for the early holiday.
For Jesus Time, Mrs. Maldonado will discuss the story of how Jesus fed 5,000 people. We will continue to complete our Lent informational packet, and start a new prayer! We will begin to recite the Lord’s prayer before snack and lunchtime.
