Hello Parents and happy Spring!!! Mrs. Maldonado and I are so happy to be done with Winter and the cold weather. Warmer weather is on the horizon for this week! Please pack your child accordingly as we will be going outside the first chance we can get!

Important Dates and Reminders:

  • ECC Aquarium Field Trip – March 31st – all permission slips are due on Wednesday 3/26!
  • Easter Program – April 14th from 9:00-10:00 am – more details to come!
  • Spring Break – April 17th-15th (NO SCHOOL, Easter Recess)

We are continuing Theme 6 “Growing Up Healthy” and starting unit 3 “Eating Well”. BIG Idea: I eat healthy foods. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their bodies and how to take care of themselves. Social-Emotional Focus: Self-Awareness. The theme vocabulary words include: fruit, grains, health, nutritious, protein and vegetables. Math vocabulary words include: compare, fewer, fewest, graph, least and most.

We will be learning the letter Vv, start reviewing numbers 1-20, continue to review shapes and colors, and complete our weekly journals on Friday’s. We will be reading the books “The Beastly Feast”, “Good Food” and “How Does Your Salad Grow?”. Since we are learning about healthy foods this week, I will be posting a sign-up on our Classdojo, asking for volunteers to bring in either a fruit or vegetable for the children to taste! We will then graph which fruit/vegetable was our favorite. We will also begin to work on our Easter crafts this week in preparation for the upcoming holiday.

For Jesus time, Mrs. Maldonado will continue to discuss the story of Jesus and how he heals a deaf man. We will continue to work on our Lent packet and continue to recite The Lord’s Prayer before snack and lunchtime.
