Happy October!

Just one reminder for the week, picture day is Thursday. Please be sure to send in an order either online or paper if you would like to order.

This week we will be focusing on the following topics:

ELA- This week in ELA we will be focusing on developing our writing skills, as well as finishing our class read aloud  Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate Dicamillo. There will be no spelling or vocab test this week. Our Because of Winn-Dixie Scrapbook will be due on Tuesday and will be counted as a quiz grade. We will be celebrating Winn-Dixie Day on Thursday, and will be watching the movie. Please send your child in with a special movie snack to enjoy while watching the movie.

Math- This week we continue chapter 2, focusing on Multiplication. Please be sure to practice fact fluency at home, Xtra math is a wonderful resource that can be accessed at home as well as in school. Additional practice can be found on Google Classroom with completed examples under the Math topic.

Social Studies- This week in S.S. we begin Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet

Science– We will end our first unit of science, Waves of Sound, with a quiz on Wednesday. We will complete a review sheet on Monday together in class.

Religion- This week in religion we will be exploring the Old Testament story of Cain and Abel .

Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points.  I am looking forward to a fabulous year with this group of fantastic fourth graders.

Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),  and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.  Ephesians 5: 8b-10
