Hello Parents! Mrs. Maldonado and I hope you enjoyed the much needed long weekend and had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with many blessings! Our Thanksgiving feast was so much fun! It was great to spend time together. A gentle reminder that we will still be going outside as long as the weather is above 37 degrees. Please pack your child accordingly as it has been extremely cold.

We will be completing various Christmas presents throughout this month! We will share some sneak peeks on our ClassDojo whenever we can! However, some will be a surprise for Christmas Day! This is a super busy month and we can’t wait to show you all all of the amazing things we will be working on!
For the month of December, we will be taking a break from our BIGDAY curriculum. This week, we will be learning the letter Jj, review shapes, numbers 1-10 and colors. The focus of this week will be all things Gingerbread! We will be reading the books “Gingerbread Man”, “Gingerbread Baby” and “Gingerbread Friends”. We will compare two using a Venn diagram. We will be creating a Gingerbread craft and decorating Gingerbread cookies! Lastly, we will recap our week in our weekly Journals.
For music and movement, we will continue practicing our Christmas songs that we will be singing in our Christmas program and follow a festive guided dance using GoNooodle.com.
For Jesus time, we will start a new prayer for the month of December. It goes as follows: Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay. Close by me forever and love me I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care and take us to Heaven to live with you there.” This is the ending to the Away in a Manger song. Lastly, Mrs. Maldonado will teach our Jesus curriculum, voyages 13: “Angels Visit Mary”.
For Advent, the children will be creating a wreath made out of dough! There will be 4 holes in which you can place small candles (birthday candles) and are able to light each candle with the corresponding Advent days! This will be sent home with the children on Friday so they are able to “light” the first and second candle on Sunday!
