Hello Parents! How is it already almost Christmas and New Years?! Time really does fly when you’re learning and having fun! Mrs. Gonzalez and I can’t wait to relax and celebrate with the children during this short week. We will only have school Monday 12/19 and Tuesday 12/20 of this week.

Important Dates and Reminders:

  1. December 19th- Christmas PJ/Movie day
  2. December 20th- Ugly sweater day/Class Christmas party! More details to come on our ClassDojo.
  3. December 21st – January 2nd- Christmas Break! School will resume on January 3rd.

We are going to continue getting into the holiday spirit by reading various holiday books such as “The Story of the Nativity”, “The Night Before Christmas” and “The Polar Express”. This Sunday is the fourth and last night of Advent! We will be “lighting” our fourth advent candle in school and discussing what Love means. It reminds us that God is love. Please also “light” your fourth candle at home!

For this short week, we will take a brief pause until after Christmas break to continue with our letter of the view, and reviewing our colors, numbers and shapes. We will finish wrapping all of our Christmas presents that will be sent home with your child on Tuesday. They are presents the children can give to their families. We will also take a pause on our weekly journals for this short week.

For music and movement, we will continue to dance and sing to festive songs found on GoNoodle.com.

For Jesus time, we will continue our December prayer which is taken from the last verse in the song Away in a Manger. We will continue to discuss the meaning and importance behind Christmas and why we celebrate.
