Hello Parents! I can not believe I am writing that it is almost Christmas Break! Where has the time gone?! Mrs. Maldonado and I can’t wait to relax and celebrate with the children during this short week. We will only have school Monday 12/18 and Tuesday 12/19 of this week. Christmas break begins on Wednesday 12/20. School will resume on January 2nd.

**Our Christmas Program is finally here and we can’t wait to show you how hard we have been practicing over the course of this month. Please  send your child in at our regular time from 8:30-8:45 and wearing their best attire! Our program will begin at 10:30 and end at 12:00. If you would like to take your child home with you after, please let me know as soon as possible. **

We are going to continue getting into the holiday spirit by reading various holiday books such as “The Story of the Nativity”, “The Night Before Christmas” and “The Polar Express”. We will be baking Christmas cookies and watching The Polar Express on Tuesday to celebrate the upcoming holiday. This Sunday is the third night of Advent and this upcoming Sunday is the last night of Advent! We will be “lighting” our third and fourth advent candle in school and discussing what Love and Joy means. It reminds us that God is love. Please also “light” your third and fourth candle at home!

For this short week, we will take a brief pause until after Christmas break to continue with our letter of the view, and reviewing our colors, numbers and shapes. We will finish wrapping all of our Christmas presents that will be sent home with your child on Monday. They are presents the children can give to their families. We will also take a pause on our weekly journals for this short week.

For music and movement, we will continue to dance and sing to festive songs found on GoNoodle.com.

For Jesus time, we will continue our December prayer which is taken from the last verse in the song Away in a Manger. We will continue to discuss the meaning and importance behind Christmas and why we celebrate.

I will be sending home review homework packets on Monday which will be due January 2nd when we return to school.
