Hello Parents! Mrs. Maldonado and I hope you enjoyed the much needed long weekend and had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with many blessings! Our Thanksgiving feast was so much fun! It was great to spend time together. A gentle reminder that we will still be going outside as long as the weather is above 37 degrees. Please pack your child accordingly.

Important Dates and Reminders:

  1. December 9th – Trinity’s Santa breakfast! Please RSVP if you plan on attending. A flyer went home with your child last  week with more information.
  2. December 18th – ECC 5’S Christmas Program from 10:30am -12:00pm!!! More details will be posted on our Classdojo shortly.
  3. December 20th – 31st – Christmas break!! School will be closed and reopen January 2nd!

We will be completing various Christmas presents throughout this month! We will share some sneak peeks on our ClassDojo whenever we can! However, some will be a surprise for Christmas Day! This is a super busy month and we can’t wait to show you all what we have been working on.

For the month of December, we will be taking a break from our BIGDAY curriculum. This week, we will be learning the letter Ii, review shapes, numbers 1-10 and colors. The focus of this week will be all things Gingerbread! We will be reading the books “Gingerbread Man”, “Gingerbread Baby” and “Gingerbread Friends”. We will compare two using a Venn diagram. We will be creating an open-ended Gingerbread person craft that will allow the children to decorate their Gingerbread person however they see fit! Lastly, we will recap our week in our weekly Journals.

For music and movement, we will continue practicing our Christmas songs that we will be singing in our Christmas program and follow a festive guided dance using GoNooodle.com.

For Jesus time, we will start a new prayer for the month of December. It goes as follows: Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay. Close by me forever and love me I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care and take us to Heaven to live with you there.” This is the ending to the Away in a Manger song. Lastly, Mrs. Maldonado will teach our Jesus curriculum, voyages 13: “Angels Visit Mary”.

For Advent, the children will be coloring a wreath worksheet that they can take home with them and use to “light” each candle. This will be sent home with the children on Friday so they are able to “light” the first candle on Sunday marking the first day of Advent!
