Hello Parents! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. As the weather continues to change, just a gentle reminder that we will still be going outside if it is above 37 degrees. Children are highly encouraged to wear proper attire such as a heavy coat, a hat, gloves, a scarf, sneakers/boots etc. Also, with the weather change comes an influx in sickness. We ask that you please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Mrs. Maldonado and I sanitize materials daily but unfortunately germs can still spread very quickly.

The theme vocabulary words include: doctor, firefighter, librarian, mail carrier, police officer, work and workers. Math vocabulary words include: closer, distance and farther. We will have a special visit from the Firehouse this Friday and also a nurse! We are asking for community worker volunteers to come in and talk about your job with the class! A flyer has been posted on our Classdojo. If you would like to volunteer, please private message me on Classdojo. We would love to have you!!!
We will be learning the letter Hh, number 10, color blue and review shapes. We will be reading the books “A Goodnight Walk, “Jobs”, “Dot the Fire Dog” and “ABC Drive!”. For our afternoon instruction, we will begin to work on our community project, review the letter Hh and complete a count and match cutting worksheet. Every Friday, we will continue to recap the week in our Journals.
We will continue talking about leaves and completing various crafts. We will also be discussing Thanksgiving and what it means to be Thankful in lieu of the upcoming holiday. We will also add in a scarecrow project and talk about what their purpose is on a farm. We will continue to play with acorns, orange rice, and corn kernels our sensory bin.
For music and movement, we will continue to sing our Thanksgiving song titled “Thank Him” and dance to a guided Turkey dance using GoNoodle.com! We will also start to practice our songs for our upcoming Christmas Program very soon!!! I am so excited for you all to see how hard they work on this program as it will be something totally different from previous years! It is truly one of our favorite parts of the year.
For Jesus time, we will continue to sing our various songs Mrs. Maldonado has taught the children. We will also continue to recite our new prayer for the month of November. Lastly, Mrs. Maldonado will teach our Jesus time curriculum, voyages 10: “Thank you for school”.
