Hello Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!

This weeks NEW theme will be “My Family” and the first unit is called “Who’s In My Family.” The goal of the week is to show students are an important part of their family. The Knowledge focus is for children to learn about family members, family roles, and the different qualities of families. Our Social-Emotional focus is Kindness.

Vocabulary words include: brother, family, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother and sister. Story words include: busy, camouflage, enemy, feast, twirl and twist. Math words include: circle, corner, rectangle, side, square and triangle. For our classroom craft, we will be color mixing red and yellow to make the color orange for pumpkins!

We will be learning the letter Cc, the color orange, #5 and oval. We will be reading the books “Bear’s Busy Family”, “Herman the Helper” and “Daddy Calls Me Man”. For Jesus time, we will be learning about Abraham. We will also have our first chapel lesson which will be held in the classroom! Specials will continue to be Art and Gym on Wednesdays.

I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be do the following Monday.
