Hello Parents! It has been a long winter break but much needed! I hope everyone got some rest, had a wonderful Christmas and is ready for the New Year. Mrs. Gonzalez and I can’t wait to see the children on Monday! Please remember to continue filling out the daily attestations upon arrival. Snow is on the forecast for the end of the week so please keep an eye out for any changes.

We are starting a new theme this week which is all about Animals! We will begin theme 4 “Awesome Animals” and unit 1 titled “All Kinds of Animals”. BIG IDEA: I live in a world full of animals. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about life science through the exploration of animals and animal life cycles. Social-Emotional Focus: Attention. The theme vocabulary words include: animal, climb, feathers, fly, fur, scales, shell, slither and swim. Math vocabulary words include: height, length and order.

We will be learning the letter Kk, number 11 and continue to review shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Biggest, Strongest, Fastest”, “Big Earth, Little Me”, “Roar! A Noisy Counting Book”, “Is Your Mama a Llama?”, and “Chicken Soup with Rice”.

We will starting talking about animals and their habitats. Since we missed the week before break, we will use this week to continue to finish up our Christmas gifts. Those will be sent out earliest Friday.

For Jesus time, we will discuss Jesus’ Birthday, Epiphany and the Three Wise Men. We will celebrate Jesus’ birthday with some hot coco and watch The Polar Express. We will celebrate Epiphany with layette gifts the children will give to baby Jesus in the manger. Mrs. Gonzalez will read a story about The Three Wise Men.
