Hello Parents! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I wish we had better weather but at least it’s not snowing!

We will be going back to our curriculum and starting Theme 5 “Imagine It, Make It” and Unit 1 “Using My Imagination”. BIG Idea: I can imagine all kinds of things. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional Focus: Initiative. The theme vocabulary words include: create, imagination, imagine, pretend and visualize. Math vocabulary words include: numerals  and quantity.

We will be learning the letter Pp, number 15 and continue to review shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Not A Box”, “The Shape of Things”, “Ten Black Dots” and “Feast For 10”. February is Black History Month so we will be learning about various people who made a huge impact throughout society. February 2nd is Groundhog Day! We will learn more using our Scholastic weekly reader. I am praying we will have an early Spring!

We will also be creating various Valentine’s Day crafts in lieu of the upcoming holiday. Please keep an eye out on our ClassDojo for more information regarding celebrations and announcements.

Beginning this month, we will be inviting guests in to be “Mystery Readers”! A sign up will be posted on our ClassDojo with dates, times and more information! We hope to see you all soon!

For Jesus Time, we will begin to learn a new prayer for the month of February. It goes as follows: “Hold my hand, Lord, show me the way. Help me be grateful every day. Show me the difference between right and wrong. Keep me safe, Lord, all night long.” Mrs. Maldonado will continue to discuss Jesus and his life. This week we will begin talking about how he chose his 12 disciples. We will also begin to learn a new song titled “Jesus Is My Valentine”.
