Hello Parents! It is starting to feel a lot like Winter! Please continue to bring the proper outside attire for if/when we go outside. If the weather is above 40 degrees, we try and bring the children outside for a little fresh air and playground time. Also, with Covid and many other sicknesses still very present, please keep your child at home if they are not feeling their best for the safety of themselves and others.
If you have not done so already, please send in a helmet with your child for Tuesday, January 17th. This will be the last day helmets can be sent in. We will begin to ride tricycles upstairs in the MPR and children without a helmet will not be able to ride.
Important Upcoming Dates and Reminders:
- January 27th is Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have not done so already, please sign up via ClassDojo. Also, if you wish to meet via zoom, please private message me. Progress reports will be sent home with your child that Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Gonzalez and I look forward to speaking with you all!
- Trinity Lutheran School’s ECC Spirit Week will begin January 23rd until January 26th! Each day will be a different theme. Theme days are my absolute favorite so I can wait to see all of the children participate! More details will be posted via ClassDojo and will be sent home this week.
We are taking a pause on our curriculum these next two weeks. We will continue to discuss different characteristics of animals and their habitats. We will continue to discuss the concept of hibernation this week as well as begin speaking about all things Penguins!! We will create shape penguins as a class craft. Stay tuned for sneak peek pictures on our Classdojo app! Lastly, since the Lunar New Year begins on Sunday January 22nd, we will celebrate as a class on Friday! We will have a special guest visit us to speak about their families traditions for the New Year as well as share a special treat! *If your child has any food allergies, please private message me!*
During this short week, we will be learning the letter Nn, number 13 and continue to review shapes and colors. We will be reading penguin and bear books that go along with our topic of hibernation/migration. We will also take a look at the Arctic and the concept of water turning into ice/snow.
