Hello Parents! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I pray everyone stays healthy as the days go on.

We are going to continue following the Big Day curriculum book and the theme “Awesome Animals!” and starting the second unit which is called “Animal Homes”. BIG Idea: Animals have a home just like me. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about life science through the exploration of animals and animal life cycles. Social-Emotional focus: Attention. The theme vocabulary words include: burrow, habitat, hibernate, hive, nest, tunnel, web and woods. Math vocabulary words include after and before.

We will be learning the letter Nn and #16. We will be reading the books “Animal Homes”, “Bear Snores on” and “Click, Clack, Quackity-Quack”. We will also read a book about Martin Luther King Jr. in order to inform students about the upcoming holiday. We will read the “Who Lives in the Arctic?” Scholastic Weekly reader book.

As a class craft, the children will be doing N is for night using glitter/stickers for the stars and moon for their ABC book. We will also be doing an Owl craft using a loofah to create a snowy owl in a tree.
