Happy Friday, Everyone! Even though we are approaching the final stretch of the 2014-2015 school year, we still have much to complete. This week Eighth Grade will have their graduation pictures after Chapel on Wednesday. The students must bring their caps and gowns to school, and any further information is included in the package with their respective caps and gowns. Peter Pan rehearsal is Tuesday and Wednesday of the coming week. The full cast must attend, as well as the stage crew. And finally, on Thursday, the Graduation Dance will take place! I look forward to seeing each of you as we celebrate our graduates and wish them well as they move on to high school. Here are the academic updates:

8TH SOCIAL STUDIES
Our study of the Roaring Twenties is in full swing, and the students are especially enthusiastic about learning about the pop culture of the decade. However, the theme of this unit is that life is not always what it seems. As we go through each lesson, there are signs of trouble beneath the surface that will eventually lead tot eh Great Depression. We are also talking about the importance of Long Island as an important destination during the 20s.

8TH PRE-ALGEBRA
As of today, Friday, May 15th, we have finished learning the different methods of solving systems of equations, and we are reviewing Module 8. There will be a quiz on Wednesday, May 20th. Extra help will be available in the morning.

8TH RELIGION
On Monday, May 18th, the students will take their Unit 4 quiz. They wrote out study notes and we have reviewed them in class together. This has been an especially educational unit, as we have learned to live by the example of the Old Testament kings and prophets.

I pray that we all have a wonderful week and that everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!
