Hello Everyone! I apologize for the delay in posting this week! There is quite a lot going on this week, so here is the latest news:

8th Social Studies

This week we are continuing to study life in the Wild West, specifically the lives of the cowhands and the farmers. I expect that the Chapter 17 test will take place late next week, but I will post more details on Monday of next week.

8th Math

This week the students are starting Module 3. We will be getting in to proportional relationships and how to graph them. In addition to the regular lessons, remember, you may access additional resources on my.hrw.com and the Khan Academy is also a great resource to brush up on skills.

8th Religion

This week the students are starting Unit 2. This week we will be looking at how God provided for His people during the Exodus, and how He continues to provide and protect us today. The memory verse for this week is John 6:35, which is found on page 35 of the student book, or here. The quiz will be on Thursday since there is no school on Friday. In addition to the regular curriculum, I have challenged the students to participate in the 30 Days of Gratitude challenge that has been popular on various social media sites. Each day the students are filling out a card listing three things for which they are thankful, and hopefully we will have a classroom filled with gratitude.
