Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! I hope everyone had a joyous Easter celebration. We are back in the swing of things here at school, and we have a full week ahead of us.

8th Social Studies

This week the students are studying the events of World War I. We will especially focus on the events that drew the U.S. into this war and how our involvement impacted the outcome of the war. World War II is typically much more popular to study, but the first World War led directly into the second.

8th Math: Pre-Algebra

This week the students will begin by reviewing the concepts we covered before the break (Module 7). We will then transition in to Module 8, solving and graphing systems of equations. As usual, my.hrw.com is where you will find the resources for each lesson. This site might also be helpful.

8th Religion

This week the students will study the book of 2 Kings. The students will especially focus on the consequences of Israel’s lack of repentance for their idolatry, and why we need to repent of our sins. The memory verse for this week is Romans 5:8, which can be found on page 83 in the student book.
