We have two front pages today due to the weather closings last week.

March 10, 2015

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Now that March is well on its way, an extremely busy time for our middle school students has approached us.  Many exciting educational opportunities have been planned as the season changes and the warm weather finally moves in.  This month, Trinity Lutheran School will be hosting the Fifth Annual Lutheran Schools Math Tournament.  We have three teams competing.  Our Sixth Graders have been studying the Dark Ages and will attend a performance at Medieval Times.  The Eighth Grade Class will take their trip to D.C., our nation’s capital.  As the month winds down, Career Day has been planned.  Our middle school students will be given an opportunity to meet a variety of our amazing parents who will speak about their careers. I thank all of you for your continuous support in building children with a foundation based on Christian values.

In Christ,

Tammy Mazza

Mrs. Gallegos and Second Grade

Happy March!  Hopefully it will start to get warmer as we anticipate the arrival of Spring.  The Second Grade has been very busy this winter working really hard.  The second graders at Trinity are so eager to learn and enjoy a variety of subjects! The children were asked what they have enjoyed learning about in 2nd grade thus far.  Here are their wonderful responses:

  • q       “I love learning math especially adding and subtracting three digit numbers.”  Jayden M.
  • q       “I like when we learn about the history of our country.”  Janelle
  • q       “I love learning math.”  Gabriel
  • q       “I enjoyed learning how to count coins and dollars.” Justin
  • q       “I love doing math and I can’t wait to start learning time.  I know a little bit so I am excited to learn more about something I know.  I also like reading fiction in Journeys.”  Sianna
  • q       “I loved learning about Martin Luther King, Jr.” Kayla S.
  • q       “I love doing science because we are learning about animals.  Today we learned about a food web and a food chain!  I loved learning it!”  Tyler
  • q       “I love dress down days!  I love learning about states and countries.  I love social studies and best of all I love my class!”  Savannah
  • q       “I loved reading about Officer Buckle and Gloria in Journeys.  I also love social studies and learning about different countries.”  Jayden T.
  • q       “I love learning about new things in reading and reading stories in our Journeys book.  Sometimes they are funny or they could be Informational Text.” Gabrielle
  • q       “I loved learning about the colonies becoming states.”  Shamir
  • q       “I love learning social studies, it is my favorite subject.  I have learned so much about back then.  I know today is very different from back then.”  Delainey
  • q       “I have enjoyed learning how to count money in math.”   Kaylah D.  As you can see we certainly have been busy in 2ndgrade, as I know all of the talented students at Trinity have been!  Keep up the good work!  I know in 2ndgrade we are looking forward to learning as much as we can the rest of the school year!  Have a great week.Mrs. Gallegos and the 2nd graders

YEARBOOK

There is still time to submit Ads and Boosters for the Yearbook. They must be in no later than March 11.

Each year, Trinity Lutheran School has provided a yearbook for each child throughout the school from ECC-8th grade.  This year, because of the rising cost of producing the yearbook, a complimentary issue will only be given out to the graduating 8th grade students.  We will, though, be taking pre-orders for the yearbook at a cost of $35.00 beginning in January for families in ECC-7th Grade who wish to purchase one.

The yearbook contains an individual picture of each child, the official class photos, pictures of teams, clubs, and other groups, and plenty of candid shots.  As you can imagine, each edition is eagerly awaited and becomes a treasured keepsake!

You can add a message to your child in the yearbook by purchasing a booster or an ad.  For just $15, you can place a congratulatory “booster” message.  Or, you can prepare a 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or full-page “ad” with text and photos.  Prices of the ads vary according to size.

You can submit boosters or ads in print or via email ([email protected]).  Emailing your ad or booster can save you time and help ensure your ad appears just the way you intend.  These forms can also be downloaded by visiting the Trinity website at TrinityLI.org under Parent Pages and then all forms.  Please refer to each order form for directions.    Thank you for your support of Trinity Lutheran School.  Yearbook orders and payments are dueMarch 15, 2015.

8th GRADE NEWS

The second half of the dance fee was due February 1.  Letters were sent home. If you have not done so yet, please remit the second half of the payment due by March 6.  We will not be able to wait much longer for payment, so please send it in ASAP.

Yearbook ads are still being taken.  Please consider an ad for your graduate.

We are still missing some baby pictures for the yearbook. Please get those in by Thursday, March 12.  Please make sure your child’s name is on the back of the photo.
