Summer 2024 has unofficially begun, now that Memorial Day weekend is behind us.  Summer is full of trips to the ocean and of beach vacations.  This week we learn about the ocean and the animals that live in the ocean.  We will enjoy listening to the “Rainbow Fish” book series and discussing the meaning of friendship, as presented by these stories as a class.  Our art projects will be to create fish and octopuses inspired by the “Rainbow Fish” book series.  Our math lesson this week will be to measure and compare fish by their size.  We will sort ocean animals into the categories: big, medium and small.
God’s love for us is as deep as the ocean.  We will praise God with the song, “Deep and Wide.”  We will ask God to watch over us as we enjoy the water this summer.  We will discuss water safety and the clothing / special summer gear we need when going to the beach.
On Friday, May 31, we will get to enjoy a trip to the beach as a class.  We will meet at Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay from 10 am to 1 pm, along with Trinity Lutheran’s other preschool families for a picnic in the park.  Please pack lunch and drinks for your family.
