Bb is for boats! This week, we will have fun exploring boat play. We will create crafts of boats at sea and race ice cube sailboats. We will count boats on the sea, learn about the different types of boats and transform our dramatic play center into a boat cruise play area. We will also explore the concept of buoyancy as we conduct the “Sink Or Float” science experiment on found objects from our classroom. We will enjoy listening to the Bible story, “Jesus Walks on Water” and sing the song of praise, “Deep and Wide.”
Our week comes to a quick end as there are no classes on Thursday for Staff Development and Friday in observance of Memorial Day. Before we end for Memorial Weekend, we will celebrate the cultural diversity in our classroom with World Heritage Days on both Tuesday and Wednesday. If you would like to participate, we would love for your child to send in a cultural food for the class to enjoy and they may also dress up in their native dress.
