Our classroom is beginning to look a bit haunted, filled with some of the spooky sights of October: bats, skeletons and Jack o lanterns. This week, we will add some creepy spiders to our classroom art decor as we learn more about spiders and create art inspired by these creepy, crawly arachnids. Our activities this week will include; learning about arachnids and their body parts through stories and investigations, singing, “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and using manipulative spiders to help us work on counting and shape recognition. Our core concepts this week, in addition to spiders, are the color black, the letter Ee, the number seven and the shape of an oval. Our Voyages religion theme this week is, “Jacob Takes Care of Joseph.”
