The weather is getting chilly. The trees are changing into beautiful colors. Spooky skeletons are haunting our neighborhoods and pumpkins fill our doorsteps and supermarkets. The season of fall is in full bloom.
We will be learning about a few of these sights of the fall season in class this week. We will discover more about the life cycle of pumpkins, create pumpkin crafts and sing the “5 Little Pumpkins” song. During chapel time we will pray the “Jack O Lantern Prayer” while carving a real pumpkin and then singing the song of praise, “This Little Light of Mine.” We will also learn about the human skeleton, its parts and create skeleton crafts. We will sing the songs, “Dem Bones” and “The Ghost of John.”
In addition to pumpkins and skeletons, we will also learn about the core concepts: the letter Dd, the color orange, the number six, the shape of a hexagon and the story of “Jacob and Rachel Have a Baby” from the Bible.
