I hope everyone enjoyed an amazing Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of the summer season. As the summer draws near, we realize that our school year together is quickly coming to an end. We still have many fun activities planned for the remainder of the year and are looking forward to an exciting end to the 2024/25 school year.
This week, our curriculum continues with Big Day Theme 8, Week 2, “Trying New Things.” We will discuss how the summer season is full of new experiences and new places to explore. We will discuss some new adventures that we plan to have this summer. In addition, we will review the alphabet, numbers 1-20, the shapes and the colors. Our sight word for the week is “the.”
This week, we will also learn about that infamous summer insect that ruins so many of our summer BBQs, the bee. We will discuss the life cycle of the bee and explore more about what defines an insect. Our Voyages religion lesson is, “Noah’s Arc.”
Please be reminded that our Early Childhood Center’s Picnic at Teddy Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay is this Friday. There will be no class this Friday so that all might attend the field trip.
