We have been exploring various animals and their habitats in class. This week, we will learn about penguins, their life cycle and their Antarctic habitat. Our art, math and music lessons will focus around the central theme of “penguins.”
Penguins live at the frozen South Pole where the land is covered with frozen ice. We will explore temperatures and the changes that happen to water when temperatures are cold. We will discover the science of snow and ice, and conduct ice freezing experiments. At the end of the week, we will create our own frozen treat. We will make ice cream using an ice cream churning ball.
In addition and in conjunction with penguins, we will also discuss Letter Oo, review basic shapes and introduce number 13. Our Voyages religion lesson for this week is, “Jesus Grew As I Grow.”
