Last Friday the students had fun painting picture frames and eating delicious cupcakes during our Fall Party.  Thank you Mrs. Ginyard and Mrs. Mejia!

It’s hard to believe we are coming to the end of our first marking quarter already.  The class has been immersed in all of our learning and we are all comfortable in our classroom setting.  Look for information soon about setting up conferences with me on the 21st.

Writing Journal Assignment:  This week’s assignment will not be done in the journal.  Students are bringing home a Creative Writing assignment about a pet turkey.  Directions are included with the paper and the final copy is due Thursday.

Math: Review and test on Module 2

Science: Measuring and predicting weather; Science Friday

Social Studies: Notes on Chapter 4, Lessons 1-3; Test next week

Reading: Ongoing free reading in class, reading notebook, conferencing

Language Arts:  Singular and plural nouns

Religion: daily devotions

Important News:

  • This Friday we will have our second Science Friday.  These extra learning events have become a favorite for the 4th graders!
  • Please join us on Wednesday at 7pm for a Parent Math Evening focusing on Common Core strategies.  Let us know if you plan to attend!
  • Math Extra Help will be held on Wednesday at 7:45 am.
