Second Grade Week of October 6th – 10th

I hope everyone had a great Fall weekend!

Here is a look at what we are working on this week:

Math: We are continuing to work with 3 digit numbers and place value concepts. We will also start to compare numbers. We will be completing Chapter 2 shortly and will have a test the week of October 13th.

Reading: Our story for this week is Teacher’s Pet. This will include the study of vocabulary as well as talking about setting, characters, and plot.

Phonics/Spelling: Our phonics and spelling words this week will concentrate on consonant blends with r, l, and s.

Grammar: We will learn about singular and plural nouns this week.

Science: We will review the parts of a plant.

Social Studies: Our study will focus on Rules at home and at school.

Reminders

October is National Bullying Month. On Wednesday of this week we will attend an assembly focusing on Anti-Bullying.

Mrs. John and Mrs. Mann have volunteered to be our class parents.   Please look for a letter coming home from them soon. If you can help them out in any way please let them know.

Please remember that Pizza money is due by Thursday.

Next Monday, October 13th, school is closed for Columbus Day.
