Second Grade Notes

Week of November 24th – 28th

I hope everyone had a great weekend and has begun preparing for the Thanksgiving Holiday this week.  We all have so much to be thankful for.   Last week the Second Graders helped lead chapel.  We had prepared a video for the service.  A link for the service is posted here on this blog.  You can find it right under this post.

There is no school this Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving break.  Wednesday is a half day with dismissal at 12 noon.

Here is what we will be working on this short week:

Math:  We will continue our study of two digit addition with and without regrouping.  We will complete our study of Chapter 4 shortly after we return form Thanksgiving.  Please keep reviewing the basic addition facts with your children at home.

Reading:  We are completing our Study of Jellies this week.  Our Reading, Grammar, and Spelling tests will all be on Wednesday.  When we return from Thanksgiving we will be doing a week of writing and then will start a new story after that.

For the tests this week please review the story, vocabulary, contractions, and past, present, and future tense.

Reminders:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25th, we will celebrate the Thanksgiving Feast in school.  The students do not need to bring lunch.

If you have any questions please let me know.  Have a great week!!  Enjoy the Holiday!
