STUDENTS SHOULD NOW BE READING AN INDEPENDENT BOOK. A BOOK PROJECT IS DUE ON DECEMBER 3
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD SELECT A BOOK. REMEMBER I have a library in my classroom.

There will be a vocabulary test on unit 4 on Friday, November 13. Much of the homework will be on vocabulary.

6th Grade: Students are working on an essay on Freak the Mighty. The sixth graders are going to read a Cynthia Rylant short story, “The Stray.” Afterwards, they will create a poster for a lost pet using adjectives to describe the pet.

7th Grade: The seventh graders are finishing the book The Wednesday Wars. They will watch a short video about Hamlet and decide how it plays into the novel. They will review adjectives. If time permits, they will write an essay on a theme of the novel.

8th Grade: We are going to read a short story, “Liverwurst and Roses” by Eileen Conway. Students will look for hyperbole in the story and discuss the theme.
