There will be a vocabulary test on Unit 2 on Friday, October 9th. Much of the homework is vocabulary this week.
6th Grade ELA: The sixth graders have begun to read Freak the Mighty. We will be exploring setting and characterization. Towards the end of the week, students will write a compare and contrast essay on the characters. We will review capitalization.
7th Grade ELA: The students have begun to read The Wednesday Wars. In the novel the author uses allusion to weave in a Shakespeare play in each chapter. The students saw a short cartoon on the Merchant of Venice. We will make the connection to that story and the novel. We will revisit capitalization.
8th Grade ELA: The eighth grade students are presenting their 1960s projects. We will begin reading the novel The Outsiders and spend some time on setting and characterization. Students will revisit capitalization.
7th Grade Religion: The students are going to review unit 1. They will have after they finish the packet.
