It’s so hard to believe that it is almost Thanksgiving! The chill is in the air and the leaves are wearing their Sunday best!
Jesus time: November is all about giving thanks. This week the story of David and Jonathan will teach us to be thankful for our friends.
Social Studies: This week we will be learning some Native American history, as well as recreating some Native American artifacts. We will also learn about the Pilgrims coming to America and the first Thanksgiving.
Science: We will learn this week about corn, how it grows, and all of the many things that are made with corn. We will talk about the corn lifecycle, and maybe even get to taste some popcorn. We will also continue to talk about leaves and create a turkey with leaves for feathers.
Language arts: Our unit this month focuses on families. Our class puppets are going around and we are enjoying reading about the visits they had with everyone’s families. Our reader this week is “Chook, Chook, Chook” about a mama hen and her 10 chicks.
Math: We are comparing, and counting different things throughout the day. We are learning phrases such as “more than”, and “less than”. We are also reviewing our numbers, shapes, and colors.
Have a blessed week!
