It’s hard to believe that November starts this week! It has been a fun, busy, and quick two months of school!
During the month of November we will talk about being thankful in preparation for Thanksgiving. Our Jesus time story for this week will be about Joshua and the battle of Jericho, and we will discuss being thankful for our cities. We will learn a song about the Fruits of the Spirit in conjunction with the school wide bible verse for this year “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
We will begin looking at the different colors and shapes of leaves as they fall off of the trees around us. We will choose our favorite, make a graph, and then paint a big leaf to hang in the hallway. Some leaf books we will read include Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger, and Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert.
We will continue review of numbers, colors, and shapes. We will focus on hexagon, orange, and number 8 this week.
This week will introduce the letter Ee.
We will continue our focus on families with stories including Celebrations by Samantha Berger and What Mommies do Best/What Daddies do Best by Laura Numeroff.
Our Pumpkin parties will be on Monday and Tuesday. Please remember to leave costumes at home.
Have a blessed week!
