Welcome to spin class!! We have been getting some great exercise in the gym riding the tricycles!

It has been so cold outside, so we are doing some experiments to learn more about ice. Where do we see ice? When do we use ice? How does it feel? How does it look? We put some water into the freezer and waited to see what would happen. Then we took the ice out and watched it melt. Does salt make it melt faster?

For religion this week we learned about Anna and Simeon. Both of these people in the bible were at the temple when Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple and they got to see him! How excited they were to see our Savior as a baby!

Also this week, we went owling! We watched a video called “Owl Moon” about a little girl and her dad who went out at night to look for owls. They had to be very quiet and it was very cold outside. After the video, we went owling in our classroom. We had to use a flashlight to look for any owls that might be hiding, and we found one! Some of the books we read to learn more about owls include: Owl Babies by Martin Waddell, The Barn Owls by Tony Johnston and The Littlest Owl by Caroline Pitcher and Tina Macnaughton.

This week’s Language Art reading is “In My Neighborhood”. We have been talking about who lives in our neighborhood, and what makes up a neighborhood.

This week also starts show-and-tell! It’s always fun to get to tell our friends about some of our special toys from home!

On Friday, we will be talking about Martin Luther King Jr., as his birthday is Monday. Reminder that school will be closed.

Have a blessed week!
