Please enjoy these pictures from our visit from the Hicksville Fire Dept. and Purple Day!

This week is ORANGE week. We will have our pumpkin parties on Thursday and Friday. Please wear orange.

The students are doing many things with the color orange. We stamped five little pumpkins on a gate and we painted/ finger-painted yellow + red  = orange. With our orange creation we will make a beautiful fall leaf.  Some of us made colorful candy corn with scraps of white , orange and yellow construction paper. And some us made a do-a-dot pumpkin that we will use to create a jack-o-lantern. Our last color poem is about orange.

Literature: Red Leaf , Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert , We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger and pumpkin stories.

For Jesus time we will hear the story about Peter Pumpkin using one of the  pumpkins from our White Post Farm  trip.

We continue to work on recognizing  colors, letters of the alphabet, numbers and shapes. To help achieve these goals we might play I spy in the classroom and write letters in shaving cream or trace sandpaper letters! We love to count everyday!
