Last week, we discovered winter weather and discussed the types of clothing we wear in the cold. This week, we will explore the Arctic! The Arctic is located at the earth’s North Pole and is cold all year round. We will explore the animals that live in this frozen habitat and their special adaptations that allow them to survive in this brutal region.
X is for eXplorers! We will be going exploring the North Pole and the letter Xx this week! Our fun learning centers this week will include…fake snow in the sensory bin, build your own ice fort using tools and mirror blocks in the STEM center, letter Xx work boards and Arctic stories in Literacy, a polar exploration station in Dramatic play and various art projects in the Art Center including diy reindeer antlers, arctic animals window clings, arctic fox crafts and polar bear process art. We will also count to 10 and build an ice tower using unifix cubes. The children are also riding tricycles each day during their gym time.
