Last week we enjoyed learning all about Ice and Snow through our Mother Goose Time Curriculum’s unit, “Ice Castle”.  This week the unit has us delving into the “Alpine Tundra”.  The Alpine tundra ecosystem is found in mountain areas and starts around 11,000 feet. There strong winds and cold temperatures limit what plants can grow.  We will explore the topics of mountain hiking, spruce trees, the tree line, mountain tops and skiing in the alpine tundra ecosystem.  We will also discuss letter Tt and the basic concepts of square, white and honest.  Our sensory bins this week will contain fake snow and we will grow a borax crystal as a science project.  As part of our Jesus Time lessons, we will learn and enjoy bible songs from vacation bible school’s “Mount Everest” program.
