The nursery students are settling in with their class routines. The students are forming friendships, learning the rules for school and playground safety. We are learning the Pledge of Allegiance and the Christian Pledge. This week in class we are:
Religion : The children are learning that Jesus is always with them and their best friend. We are learning the morning and snack prayer. We are talking about the bible, learning that it contains the word of God and singing the B-I-B-L-E song. We made a God made me special plate with our handprint.
Stories: Fire Drill by Janet Craig, Five Little Monkeys by Eileen Christelow and Clifford’s First School Day by Norman Bridwell.
Movement to music: Tooty -Ta, The Turning song and What a Miracle.
Math: We count our friends in our class when we take attendance. We are learning about calendars and the days of the week. This month we are counting apples for the month of September.
Science: We discuss the daily weather and dress weather dog accordingly. We are learning about the four seasons while singing a song called The Four Seasons.
Art: We are creating an I am special book.
We had our first two fire drills this week. The children are learning to walk quietly in a line, listen to the teacher and follow directions.
The nursery students were introduced to our new ECC SMART table. They played an animal sorting game and colored with their fingers!
