This week in class we are :
Having our class picnics! Mrs. Evers’ class was scheduled for Monday and Mrs. Krass’ class will be going on the rain date of Thursday.
Language Arts: We are continuing with our nursery rhyme unit. This week we will learn Hickory, Dickory Dock. We will also be working on our rhyme chart. The children are really getting good at recognizing rhyming words! Alphabet chart- recognizing letters of the alphabet and the sounds associated with those letters.
Stories: Becoming Butterflies by Anne Rockwell and A Caterpillar’s Wish by The First Graders of the Alexander School in Washington , D.C.
Jesus Time: Closing program songs and Jesus is with us always.
Movement to music: Butterfly song, Hickory Dickory Dock song, Ten Little Fingers, and Rhyme Time song,
Science: Our butterflies emerged from their chrysalis’. We released them on Wednesday at school and Thursday at the park! Our snap peas are growing! We will plant them in Trinity’s Community Garden next Tuesday.
Math: Count our friends and flowers. Recognizing numbers- please review at home.
Reminders: The closing program for both nursery classes is on Monday, June 8th @9:15 am. Please bring your child to the classroom promptly at 9 am and then proceed to the church to secure a seat. The celebration will continue in the Youth Senior Room after the closing program.
