I hope everyone had a great winter break! We are back in the swing of things and I cannot believe we are approaching March!

Language Arts- This week we will continue Unit 6 of our Wonder’s series. Our essential question is, What happens in different kinds of weather? & we will read, “Rain”. We will learn two new sight words – was and she and we will focus on the long and short i sounds and letter sounds k & ck. We will continue to blend sounds and determine all the missing sounds in CVC words. We will also continue word families, with the short i sound and introduce the short i word family words, Ex. -in, -ip, -it and more. In grammar, we will continue to learn about singular and plural nouns, Ex. duck and ducks.

Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be word families and sight words.

Math- This week we will begin Module 10 – Compare Numbers to 10: Greater Than or Less Than.

Math Centers- We will fill in missing numbers from 1-50 and 1-100.

Jesus Time- We will continue to read about Jesus growing up and all the wonderful stories he told and miracles he preformed. We will also begin to discuss Lent and what that church season means.

Science: This week we will dive into Mystery Science and learn about animals and spring weather.

Social Studies:  We have been discussing different famous African American people! We watch a video, read the sentences in our book and color their pictures! So far we have learned about Harriet Tubman, Jackie Robinson, and Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges. This week we will relearn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama.
